This handicap system is based on results from the riders last 7 events discarding their best and worst performance. For riders who have less than 4 events there are no discards and for riders with less than 3 events the default factor (printed next to the date in the header of the table) is used to bring that rider up to 3 events.
The riders actual score is multiplied by the factor shown to achieve their corrected score. The posted results will show the corrected score to 1 decimal place to reduce count backs. Example, Rider A drops 16 riding points with a handicap factor of 1.8 then the riders corrected score is 28.8 penalties. Rider B drops 22 riding points with a handicap factor of 1.2 the riders corrected score is 26.4 penalties. If a count back is still required it will be decided as per the GCR 10.5.1.3.
